Went to the distillery last week and bought the new Celtic Manor 2010 expression (Sherrywood).

I am interested in buying a 2008 Grand Slam if anyone has one out there

I’ve revisited this malt and finished my wee sample. this time i got Big time bananas on the nose. the Melon and other fruits are there as well.
wonder where those bananas were on the first round?

Glad to hear you liked it, too, and that we’re in general agreement on enjoyment level and pricing.

United States regulations are all messed up at both the Federal and State levels. I’m not sure exactly where the hang-up was, but in the end, they sent me one of the UK 700ml bottles via 1-877-spirits.com, who specialize in global delivery (their prices are off the charts, though).

Thanks Gal. This sure is different from the Madeira-finished Balvenie I just reviewed. On that one, the Madeira seemed to provide more sherry-like fruitiness, along with cinnamon and nutmeg spices. Of course, there’s a big age difference between these expressions, too.

You’re right, the Whisky Bible doesn’t have every expression, but considering it’s just one man doing all of the reviews…
