Interesting review. I'm in the opposite situation as you - the NAS is the only bottle I can find here in NYC, I've yet to see the 10 year anywhere.

From your notes, the tastes seem mostly similar, although you indicate a much heavier smoke profile than I found on the NAS. That was my biggest hangup. I know Bunnahabhain is the "base" Isaly in the blend, but I was really looking for a much smokier blend.

As cheap as it was, it just didn't have enough of a traditionally strong Islay flavor for me.

Hi Mike,
So far, I haven't been able to find BB NAS here in AZ, so I can't provide a value comparison. However, for under $40, I don't think you can go wrong with giving BB 10 a try.

From your posts on whiskyparty.net, I would think worst case you would give this somewhere in the 7.8 to 8.0 score range. Possibly much higher. You could always add a few drops of your Uigeadail to energize it and give it a longer finish.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the review; I've always wondered if the 10 yo is worth buying over the NAS. Its a shame that this question will soon no longer be relevant. I have seen this bottle on shelves around Chicago, so hopefully I'll get to try a bottle.
