It’s funny you mention the “campfire-marshmallow combination”, as that’s the impression I’ve gotten before from the Ardbeg 10 nose. I can certainly see that with the Laph 15, though (but with less of the campfire smoke). And yes, Laph 15 is a huge bargain right now; apparently even more so here in AZ. Scotch is overall pretty expensive here, but Laphroaig and Glenfiddich are the exception to that rule for some reason.

The extra five years in those MM bourbon casks finally bring out the balance in Laphroaig that allows for a real depth of complexity and flavor. I enjoy the campfire-marshmallow combination of smokey sweetness. This dram blows me away every time, and even at northern US prices ($70-75), this is one of the greatest whisky deals out there. It will be missed.
